Practice Dialogue (Module F)

Applied Business Administration (VU)

  • Contents: Management and Leadership, similarities and accruals management functions and activities, leadership philosophies, leadership principles, leadership and tools, management and leadership approaches in practice, leadership and human resource management.
  • Objectives: The objective is to give students an insight into the research field of Management and Leadership. Above all, they should also gain the added ability to apply the learned content to specific practical problems.
  • Competencies: The course is aimed at students who are preparing to take over management functions in companies, governments and non-profit organizations (NPOs). Teaching management skills and leadership skills.

Business Plan and Entrepreneurship (VU)

  • Content: In addition to the fundamental knowledge of facts, is a problem-oriented introduction to the major fields of action and decision areas: Entrepreneurship and Business Plan. Theoretical foundations, environmental and competitive analysis, business strategies, business plan, marketing for start-ups, financing, investor’s acquisition and ownership structure, organization, Corporate Venturing, Networking and Franchising, Entrepreneurship.
  • Learning Objectives:  Sound methodological basis of the analysis and management of new business ideas and their implementation. The students should be able to recognize opportunities and risks to evaluate and implement them in a meaningful business model.
  • Competencies: Teaching personal and social skills needed for entrepreneurship.
  • Teaching and learning activities, methods: lecture, discussion, case studies, team work.
  • Requirements for participation: The principles defined in § 9 of the curriculum requirements.
  • Frequency of occurrence of modules:  each semester

Practical Business Planning (KS)

  • Content: Practical exercises and business simulations enable experimental, playful and competitive learning and realistic conditions such as limited resources, time constraints and competition.
  • Objectives: Identifying a business relationship in a company, agency business management knowledge, development of strategies.
  • Competences: train Entrepreneurship, ability to assess markets, market trends, customer’s value and competitive advantage and to identify success factors.
  • Teaching and learning activities, methods: Lecture, special use of simulation software, work with case studies.
  • Requirements for participation: the principles defined in § 9 of the curriculum requirements.
  • Frequency of occurrence of modules: each semester
